Does Canadian Solar's "Up to 620W" Describe Its Residential Rooftop Panels?

No. The North American residential products page lists two series, TOPHiKu6 and HiKu6, and the TOPHiKu6 datasheets cover 440 to 470 W (96 cells) and 435 to 465 W (108 cells). "Up to 620W" with 23.0% efficiency is the headline on the TOPHiKu6 series page, but the same wording appears on the page for TOPBiHiKu6, a bifacial module whose listing shows 600 to 630 W and a length of 2,382 mm.

The datasheets give weights of 21.8 kg for the CS6.2-48TM-H, 23 kg for the CS6.1-54TM-H and 22.4 kg for the CS6R-MS-HL. TOPBiHiKu6 is not on the residential page, and the module listing shows no application icons for it.

Some figures disagree within the site itself. The module listing puts the HiKu6 CS6R at 400 to 420 W and 30 mm thick, while the All-Black datasheet from March 2023 says 380 to 405 W and 35 mm. The downloads page labels the CS6.1-54TM-H as 445 to 470 W, and its datasheet says 435 to 465 W.

The warranty length changes between page and datasheet

The TOPHiKu6 series page lists a 12-year enhanced product warranty on materials and workmanship and a 30-year linear power warranty. Both TOPHiKu6 datasheets carry a footnote saying the 25-year limited product warranty is available only for products installed and operating on rooftops in certain regions.

The TOPHiKu6 datasheets cap degradation at 1% in the first year and 0.4% a year after that. Following that cap, output would be 89.4% of rated power in year 25 and 87.4% in year 30.
