What Separates the Four Hoymiles HMS-2T-NA Microinverters?
Summary
The HMS-700, 800, 900 and 1000 in the -2T-NA line each take two panels and track them with two independent MPPTs. They differ in maximum input current (13 to 16 A per input) and rated output (638 to 958 VA). Maximum input voltage is 60 V on the 700 and 65 V on the other three.

Two 450 W panels on one unit
A 450 W panel falls inside the commonly used module range of all four models. Two of them make 900 W of DC, but the AC side of an HMS-800 is rated at 720 VA and an HMS-1000 at 958 VA. Because the watt ranges overlap this much, the real dividing lines are input current and rated output. We do not rule on whether a given panel's current and voltage fit a given model; that is set by Hoymiles' and the panel maker's specifications.
The page contradicts itself once. Its text describes a maximum DC voltage of 65 volts, which it ties to PV Rapid Shutdown Equipment under NEC 2017 and NEC 2020 Article 690.12 and CEC 2021 Section 64-218, yet the spec table lists 60 V for the HMS-700.
How monitoring reaches your phone
The microinverters talk to a gateway, called a DTU, over Hoymiles' Sub-1G wireless link. The DTU-Pro-S listed as a related product collects data from up to 99 panels and sends it to the company's S-Miles Cloud platform, with a stated range of 400 m in open space.
